Discovering Sweden with Jérôme Carlier

When I think of paradise, Sweden immediately comes to mind. There’s just something magical about the landscapes, especially along the west coast and in the charming city of Gothenburg. The vibe there is so warm and welcoming, and it’s the perfect mix of culture and natural beauty. I love staying at Jaczy’z Hotel—it’s this boutique spot with a Gatsby-style, speakeasy vibe that feels so unique and inspiring. When it comes to food, I can’t get enough of Evolushi. It’s this amazing Asian fusion restaurant in Gothenburg that takes sushi to a whole new level with its creative twists. Every bite feels like a little adventure.

For me, luxury is all about the atmosphere. As someone who’s pretty creative, I’m drawn to places that have great design and a unique style. It’s the little details that make a big difference—a cozy lounge area, beautifully curate decor, or even just the lighting. And, of course, food is a huge part of it. I love places where the dining experience is as memorable as the surroundings. Quality and attention to detail are everything.

While I usually opt for luxury resort hotels when I'm on vacation, as they offer that all-inclusive getaway experience, I also have a special appreciation for boutique hotels, especially when it comes to shorter trips. What I love about them is the personal touch, especially in terms of design and atmosphere. For example, Jacy’z Hotel stands out to me not just for its vibe, but also for its impeccable interior design and cozy, yet stylish, bar area. The whole ambiance of the place is what really makes it memorable.

My must-haves are pretty simple but essential. I always pack a nice suit for any formal dinners, some casual but chic outfits for exploring, and swim short because you never know when you’ll find the perfect spot for a dip. I also bring my camera because I love capturing the atmosphere of the places I visit and preserving those memories.

In 2025, I’m hoping to explore the British countryside and spend some time soaking in London’s energy. There’s something so timeless about the UK’s mix of history and modernity. I’m also dreaming of Italy and Spain—both have such rich cultures and incredible food. I’m excited to slow down, enjoy the simple pleasures, and discover new places that inspire me.
